CITE - Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment

is a tripartite body composed of representatives from government, trade unions and associations of employers, which aims to pursue equality and non discrimination between women and men in labour market, as well as protection of maternity and paternity and reconciling work and family life, in both the private and public sectors.

CITE comes under the authority of the Minister of Economy and Employment, in articulation with the Secretary of State for Equality.

Since 2000 CITE awards the “Equality is Quality” Prize (a prestigious distinction) to organisations and companies that pursue exemplary policies regarding equality and good practices for work-life balance (since 2009 this award is in partnership with CIG-Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality).

Anita Sares

is a Senior officer in gender equality issues in labour market.

Working in CITE since 2003, developing projects related to gender equality in the labour market and assuring CITE’s participation in international activities and representing CITE in some EU working groups.
